Owner report 10437306 · 2011-11-26 (November 26, 2011)

I WENT TO THE MALL YESTERDAY AND MY CAR STARED SHAKING THE MALL IS 4 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOUSE. I WAS DRIVING THROUGH THIS INTERSECTION ON THE WAY HOME AND I HEARD A HORRIBLE POP AND SAW SOMETHING FLY IN THE AIR AND FALL OFF OF MY CAR. IT WAS THE DRIVER SHAFT AND THAT PART WAS LAYING IN THE ROAD ABOUT 4 FEET LONG AND IF SOMEONE WOULD HAVE RAN OVER IT I BELIEVE IT COULD HAVE CAUSED INJURY TO SOMEONE. THIS CAR HAS HAD SO MANY ISSUES. FROM TAIL LIGHTS GOING OUT AT ONE TIME, THE DOOR KNOB FALLING OFF, THE ARM OF THE SEAT BROKE AND NOW THE HEAD LIG…

WHEN DRIVING MY 2007 GMC YUKON XL, THE STABILTRAK OFF LIGHT COMES ON AS WELL AS THE ENGINE LIGHT AND THE CAR LOSES POWER. ONCE THIS HAPPENS, THE STEERING BECOMES DIFFICULT AND BRAKING IS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES NOW AND MOST RECENTLY GOING DOWN A STEEP HILL WITH MY THREE CHILDREN IN THE CAR. I SEE THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THIS HAPPENING AND FEEL THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER.

Owner report 11494346 · 2022-11-21 (November 21, 2022)

Thr lifters shut down the engine and caused it to completely turn off the vehicle while in motion. It is available for inspection. Has not been confirmed by dealer. The code read cylinder 1 misfire but the lifters were not functional. The seizure of the engine and full stop of the vehicle while in motion nearly caused a 3 car pile up and a close collision into a fire hydrant as the steering locked and emergency brakes were not functional. There was no other warning lamps or messages offered prior to the shut down.

ACCELERATING TO PASS A SLOW VEHICLE 40MPR IN A 60MPR ZONE, WHILE ACCELERATING THE POWERTRAIN FAILED NO POWER IN DRIVE. WHILE COASTING ON THE SHOULDER I TRIED SHIFTING TO OTHER GEARS - RECEIVED POWER ON SECOND GEAR HOWEVER RUBBING NOISE AND HARDLY ANY POWER. LUCKILY MY DEALER WAS WITHIN A MILE OF WHERE THIS FAILURE OCCURRED AND LIMPED TO THE DEALER IN SECOND GEAR AT 25MPR. *TR

Owner report 10568651 · 2014-03-11 (March 11, 2014)

WHILE PICKING UP MY CHILDREN FROM SCHOOL THE ENGINE STARTED BACKFIRING,PULLED THE CAR OVER AND PUT INTO PARK IDLE COMPLETELY UNSTABLE, TRACTION CONTROL SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. HARD SHIFT ON TRANSMISSION. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSIS THEY SAY THE LIFTERS ARE BAD AND ARE NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. QUOTED ME 2700.00 TO REPLACE 2 LIFTERS SO NOT ACCEPTABLE THIS CAR DOES NOT EVEN REQUIRE A TUNE UP UNTIL 100000 MILES. EXPLAINED THAT TO THE SERVICE REP AND HE CAME BACK WITH A DIFFERENT QUOTE…

Owner report 11155448 · 2018-12-02 (December 2, 2018)

PERSISTENT "TICKING" LIFTER UPON START OF A COLD ENGINE. SLIGHT LOSS OF POWER UNTIL THE ENGINE FINALLY WARMS AND THE TICKING SUBSIDES. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS IN BOTH WARM AND COLD WEATHER BUT IS WORSE DURING COLD WEATHER. WHEN I ASKED THE LOCAL GM DEALER ABOUT A SOLUTION, THEY DESCRIBED A POTENTIAL REPAIR; A BAFFLE MAY BE INSTALLED IN THE OIL PAN TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM OF OIL DRAINING OUT OF THE TOP SIDE OF THE MOTOR. THIS INDICATES TO ME THAT GM HAS RECOGNIZED A DESIGN FLAW IN THIS MOTOR (THE 5.3L WITH ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT AND "FLEXFUEL" OPTION…

In these vehicles between two thousand and five and two thousand and seven are constantly, such as my vehicle, low oil pressure and lower rod bearing failure constant is which what I have and due to wiring cruise control becomes no good because of computer failure. I cannot afford to fix the lower rod bearings and notice that you have already a recall for trucks, twenty twenty one and up.But this problem has been ongoing from gm since twenty twenty five or more. I also took my vehicle in for an airbag recall. And after that, I still have an airb…
