FAILURE OF ABS CONTROL MODULE .*MR THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHEN THE CONSUMER FIRST STARTED THE VEHICLE. THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ABS PUMP/BRAKE MODULATION SYSTEM STARTED RUNNING. THE PUMP CONTINUED TO RUN WHEN I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. THE CONSUMER THEN DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY TO STOP THE PUMP FROM RUNNING. WHEN THE CONSUMER RECONNECTED THE BATTERY, THE PUMP STARTED RUNNING AGAIN. THE REPAIR SHOP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS BEING CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE EBC CONTROL MODULE (PN 88982286). I PURCHASED A NEW BANKS ELECTRONIC SPEED BRAKE PN 55445 WITH SELECTOR SWITCH, FIRMWARE REV. 555431-05-02, SERIAL # SAA40615284 AND INSTALLED IT ON OUR GMC 2500 HD PICKUP PER SUPPLIED INSTRUCTIONS. SHORTLY AFTER INSTALLATION IT BEGAN CAUSING THE ALLISON 6 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION TO RANDOMLY GO INTO NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. I WOULD HAVE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STOP, PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN PARK AND BACK INTO DRIVE TO RESET THE PROBLEM AND RESUME DRIVING.
