The transmission control module stopped working leaving the vehicle unable to be driven and no part support from gmc/allison and part is backordered with no eta. There are reports the module becomes defective due to its placement near engine heat. There should be a recall for this issue. Many people are experiencing this issue

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC SIERRA 3500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REVERSING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND TO DECELERATION ATTEMPTS AS THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,232. UPDATED 06/10/14*LJ
