I OWN A 2001 GMC SIERRA 1500 HD SLE WHICH I LOST MY BRAKES WHILE ENTERING A INTERSECTION THE OTHER DAY BROUGHT IT TO A SHOP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT THEY INFORMED ME I HAVE ROTTED BRAKE LINES AT THE ABS MODULE UNDER THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. THE MECHANIC SHOWED ME THE ROTTED LINES I TOOK SOMETIME TO CHECK THE INTERNET TO SEE IF THERE WHERE OTHERS HAVING THIS PROBLEM THERE SEEMS TO BE THOUSANDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. ALSO THE REAR LEAF SPRINGS SHACKLES HAVE ROTTED OUT. *TR

Owner report 10552220 · 2013-11-14 (November 14, 2013)

THE GAS GAUGE IS NOT DEPENDABLE. SOMETIMES ACCURATE, BUT MORE OFTEN, NOT ACCURATE. IT IS A CONTINUOUS PROBLEM. YOU MAY RUN OUT OF GAS AT ANY MOMENT, IN TRAFFIC, ON THE INTERSTATE AT HIGH SPEEDS, THEN YOU HAVE NO STEERING OR BRAKES, ENGINE IS DEAD. IT HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES, ONCE WHEN IT SHOWED 3/4 TANK FULL. I HAVE A 2001 CHEVY REGULAR CAB PICKUP TRUCK THAT DOES THE SAME THING. I HAVE TALKED TO MANY OTHER OWNERS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. IT IS DEFINITELY A FACTORY DEFECT. *TR

Owner report 10575971 · 2014-03-31 (March 31, 2014)

I HAVE 2 OF THESE VEHICLES AND KNOW A FEW FRIENDS WITH THE SAME. THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL GAUGE IN THESE VEHICLES ARE FACTORY DEFECTIVE. THEY ARE VERY, VERY INACCURATE IN TELLING YOU HOW MUCH FUEL YOU HAVE. I HAVE RUN OUT OF FUEL MANY, MANY TIMES WITH 1/2 TANK, 3/4 TANK FULL OF FUEL. THIS IS VERY VERY DANGEROUS SINCE YOU HAVE NO WARNING AND LOSE ALL STEERING AND BRAKES WITH NO ENGINE POWER. A LOT OF MY FRIENDS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH VERY SIMILAR MAKES AND MODELS. *TR

I WAS TOWING A VEHICLE ON IN THE RIGHT SLOW LANE, AND "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" LIGHT CAME ON. ENGINE VIBRATED AND RUNS ON 1/2 CYLINDERS. CANNOT BRAKE OR STEER, TOTAL LACK OF POWER. SEMI-TRUCK NEARLY REAR ENDS ME AS I CANNOT GO OVER 10 MPH. NO THROTTLE RESPONSE, PERIOD. I WAS IN ROAD CONSTR…
