FIRST INCIDENT: TRAVELING DOWN A HIGHWAY IN BUSY COMMERCIAL DISTRICT, WHILE SLOWING TO PULL INTO A STORE THE MAIN BRAKE LINE TO THE REAR BRAKE ABRUPTLY FAILED CAUSING NEARLY COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKING. I BARELY AVOIDED CRASHING INTO THE SIGN AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE STORE. WHILE LOOKING AT THE LINE AFTER REMOVE, THE WHOLE AREA WAS COMPLETELY RUSTED AND MULTIPLE AREAS COULD HAVE FAILED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNED A 1984 GMC SIERRA. ON JUNE 13, 2007, WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED STEAM OR SMOKE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. HE PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE. THE FIRE DESTROYED EVERYTHING IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AND THE TIRES AND BED OF THE VEHICLE WERE ALL THAT REMAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FIRE BEGAN UNDER THE HOOD, DIRECTLY BEHIND THE MASTER CYLINDER IN FRONT OF THE FUSE BOX. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE WILL PULL DRAMATICALLY TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. CONSUMER HAD TIRES/ ROTORS, AND CALIPERS REPLACED. VEHICLE WAS CHECKED BY DEALER, WHO DETERMINED THAT STEERING BOX WAS DEFECTIVE AND LEAKING POWER STEERING FLUID. THIS IS A 10,000 GVWR MOTOR HOME. *AK
