13V037000 · Electrical System:Ignition
Reported: 2013-02-01 (February 1, 2013) · Model years: 2013
Forest River is recalling certain model year 2013 Concord, Leprechaun, Freelander, Lexington, Forester and Sunseeker class B and class C motor homes built on Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana chassis. It may be possible to remove the key from the ignition when the vehicle is running or the transmission is not in the Park position. As such, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 114, "Theft Protection."
Consequence: If the ignition key is removed while the vehicle is still on and/or the vehicle is not in Park, the vehicle may rollaway and the unintended movement of the vehicle may result in a possible crash or injury to pedestrians.
Remedy: General Motors (GM) will notify owners on behalf of Forest River. GM dealers will replace the ignition lock cylinder and the two associated keys. This service will be performed free of charge. The recall began on February 28, 2013. For more information, GMC owners may call 1-866-996-9463 and Chevrolet owners may call 1-800-630-2438. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2013-2017 Dynamax and Coachmen Pursuit recreational vehicles and 2016-2017 Freelander and Orion recreational vehicles. The affected vehicles are equipped with shower curtains that may not adequately resist catching fire in the presence of an ignition source. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 302, "Flammability of Interior Materials."
Consequence: A flammable shower curtain may further fuel a fire, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will replace the shower curtains with curtains made with fire retardant, free of charge. The recall began on September 12, 2016. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2020 Sunseeker SSC2250SLEC, Freelander FLC26RSC, and Leprechaun LPC240FSC vehicles. The seatbelt-unfastened warning light will not illuminate for approximately five seconds after the ignition is moved to the "on" or "start" position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
Consequence: Without the seatbelt warning reminder, the driver may forget to fasten the seatbelt, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Remedy: Forest River will notify owners, and GM dealers will reprogram the instrument panel, free of charge. The recall began on October 29, 2019. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2025 Freelander motorhomes. The Federal Placard indicates 30 seat-belted positions in the rear, when the correct number of belted positions is 3. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 120, "Wheels and Rims - Other than Passenger Cars" and 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."
Consequence: Incorrect seating capacity information may lead to overloading the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Forest River will mail owners new Federal Placards, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 8, 2024. Owners may contact customer service at 1-574-825-8602. Forest River's number for this recall is 210-1824.

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2025 Concord, Entourage, Freelander, and Leprechaun motorhomes. The taillights may overheat and fail to illuminate. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Consequence: Inoperative taillights can reduce the vehicle's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Sunseeker, Solera, Forester, Freelander, Leprechaun, and East to West Entrada motorhomes. The fuel line extension connectors may have inconsistent crimps, allowing the fuel line to detach.
Consequence: A detached fuel line can leak, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel lines as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning September 26, 2025. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2026 Freelander motorhomes. The solar panel wire may have been incorrectly connected to a breaker without over-current protection.
Consequence: A wire that is not connected to over-current protection increases the risk of a fire.

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2027 Leprechaun and Freelander recreational vehicles. A battery posted mounted breaker may not be installed, leaving the power feed wire without overcurrent protection.
Consequence: A unprotected power feed wire increases the risk of a fire.
