HAVE ALSO FOUND COMPLAINTS ON FORD PRIOR YEAR MODELS REGARDING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AS WELL. VEHICLE FORD WINDSTAR: WAS ON INTERSTATE WHEN SUDDENLY LOST HEAT/AC, CRUISE CONTROL, SPEEDOMETER, AND ONBOARD MONITORING COMPUTER. WAS ON WEEKEND IN THE AFTERNOON STOPPED AT AUTO PARTS STORE FOR ELECTRICAL CHECK DETERMINED BLOWN FUSE. REPLACED FUSE AND SMOKE ROLLED OUT OF ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHEN TRIED TO START VAN. CUT OFF SWITCH AND TRACED PROBLEM TO FRONT OF MASTER CYLINDER SWITCH (SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH). WE DISCONNECTED THE WIRING FROM THE SWITCH AND WAS ABLE TO RESTORE ALL INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROLS EXCEPT THE CRUISE CONTROL. STAR…

WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE DRIVER NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE STEERING FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
