WHEN I STARTED THE VEHICLE THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY WAS SLAMMED SHUT DUE TO A FAULTY MOTOR THAT WHEN IT GETS LOW VOLTAGE ( CHANGING THE BATTERY) IT MALFUNCTIONS AND CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO GO IN LIMP MODE. FORD HAS A LONG HISTORY OF HAVING ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY ISSUES AND THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE NHTSA BEFORE BY MANY CONSUMERS. HAD THE VEHICLE HAD LOW VOLTAGE WHEN DRIVING THIS SAME ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED BY OTHER CONSUMERS FROM 2004 TO PRESENT. FORD SERVICE TECH ADVISED ME HE SEES…

I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE GETTING THE DIESEL ENGINE TO START FROM COLD. THE ENGINE WOULD CRANK FOR BETWEEN 6 AND 10 SECONDS BEFORE FINALLY FIRING. IN ADDITION, I HAVE EXPERIENCED ONE TURBO CHARGER OVER BOOST CONDITION WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO LIMP HOME MODE ON THE HIGHWAY. I WAS CLIMBING A MOUNTAIN WITH THE BOAT AND SUDDENLY FOUND MY ENGINE RPM LIMITED TO 1500 AND A MAX SPEED OF APPROX. 29MPH. THE DIESEL TECH TOLD ME THAT MY TURBOCHARGER WASN'T EVEN PROVIDING BOOST DUE TO THE VARIABLE GEOMETRY VANES BEING COKED FROM BURNING ENGI…
