I HAVE A DUAL FUEL TANK SYSTEM. THE REAR TANK IS PUMPING GAS INTO THE FORWARD TANK. THE FORWARD TANK IS OVERFLOWING PAST THE FILLER CAP AND SPILLING TO THE GROUND. THESE SYMPTOMS ARE INDENTICAL TO THE 1993 F-SERIES FUEL SYSTEMS PROBLEMS NHTSA ID # 00V-424, MFG CAMPAIGN # 00S57. I JUST WENT TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER. THEY LOOKED UP MY VIN AND SAID THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT LISTED UNDER THIS RECALL. THE DEALER IS MORE THAN WILLING TO HELP. I WAS TOLD THAT THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN WOULD FIRST HAVE TO TROUBLESHOOT THE CAUSE AND FIND OUT IF THE FAILURE …

WAS APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY RADIO WENT OUT, MY GAUGES STARTED TO GO CRAZY, THEN MY TRUCK HAD SHUT OFF AND TURNED BACK ON. AFTER THAT I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD WENT TO PRESS MY BRAKES, I HAD NO BRAKES. SO I TURNED INTO A PARKING LOT, WHERE NOW MY GAUGES HAD PEGGED ALL TO ONE SIDE, MORE SMOKE WAS COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD, AND NOW I STILL DIDN'T HAVE NO BRAKES OR POWER STEERING. SO I SLAMMED THE TRUCK INTO PARK, THEN SHUT IT OFF. I POPPED THE HOOD AND NOTICED A SMALL FIRE UNDER THE MASTER CYLINDER AND T…

Owner report 10116046 · 2005-03-29 (March 29, 2005)

I OWN A 1995 FORD F-150 4X4. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK IN DECEMBER OF 1998, AND IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 87,000 MILES ON IT. I STARTED HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SHORTLY AFTER I BOUGHT THE TRUCK, BUT I ALSO HAD TROUBLE WITH THE SPEEDOMETER. I THOUGHT THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS CAUSED BY THE SPEEDOMETER PROBLEM. I ALSO HAD TROUBLE WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, WHICH I CONTRIBUTED TO THE SPEEDOMETER FLUCTUATION. SINCE THEN, I HAVE HAD THE REAREND REBUILT, AND HAVE REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. I STILL EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION…
