East Manufacturing Corp. (East) is recalling certain model year 2016 Beast II flatbed trailers manufactured May 22, 2015, to June 19, 2015, equipped with certain Conestoga XP sliding trailer tarping systems with RAD-style rear closures. In the affected trailers, the rear aerodynamic device (RAD) may separate from the rear of the tarping system, due to rivet failure.
Consequence: If the RAD detaches from the trailer it may be a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: East will notify owners, and dealers will replace the mounting rivets with a bolted connection, free of charge. The recall began on September 6, 2016. Owners may contact East customer service at 1-330-325-9921. East's number for this recall is 16E-066.

East Trailers, LLC (East Trailers) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Beast and Beast II trailers. An improper weld may fail, causing the rear impact guard to detach. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 223, "Rear Impact Guards" and 224, "Rear Impact Protection."
Consequence: A detached rear impact guard cannot mitigate the impact of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will repair the weld joint, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 12, 2026. Owners may contact East Trailers' customer service at 1-574-295-7888.
