2011 DUTCHMEN COLEMAN CAMPER. CONSUMER EXPRESSES DISCONTENT REGARDING REPAIRS *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED TWO OF THE DOOR LOCKS DID NOT WORK, AND THE BATTERY WENT FROM FULL CHARGE TO LOW VERY QUICKLY, INDICATING ONE OF THE ELECTRICAL UNITS WAS DRAINING THE BATTERY AT A LARGER RATE THAN NECESSARY. *JB

The contact owns a 2022 Dutchmen Coleman Lantern RV. The contact stated that while his wife and niece were sleeping, the smoke alarm detector engaged. The vehicle occupants then noticed that the RV was on fire and immediately exited the RV. Other campers and the camping site workers extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher. The contact stated that the A/C vents had burnt. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but the contact's request to trade the vehicle in was denied. I HAVE DIFFICULTY STOPPING MY NEW TRAVEL TRAILER, I HAVE LEARNED DUE TO THIS SUBSTANDARD BRAKING ACTION, THAT THESE UNITS AXLES ARE UNDERSIZED FOR THE 10,000# GVW. IT HAS TWO 4400# AXLES EQUIPPED WITH 3500# BRAKES ON EACH. I HAVE TO SET THE BRAKE CONTROLLER AT MAXIMUM TO FEEL ANY EFFECT FROM THE TRAILER BRAKES. WHEN MANUALLY ACTIVATING THE BREAKAWAY DEVICE THE TRAILER DOES NOT STOP.
