Owner report 10458856 · 2012-05-17 (May 17, 2012)

THE DASH, RADIO, & CD PLAYER LIGHTS FLASH OFF AND ON INTERMITTENTLY. THIS OCCURS ON RANDOM OCCASIONS, BUT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE OFTEN IN WET WEATHER. IT ALSO HAPPENS WHEN OPERATING THE TURN SIGNAL. THE LIGHTS WILL DIM LOW AND WILL NOT RETURN TO A "NORMAL" BRIGHTNESS UNTIL YOU ADJUST THE TURN SIGNAL ARM. ANOTHER ALARMING ISSUE IS ON OCCASION, SMOKE WILL APPEAR FROM THE STEERING COLUMN WHEN TURNING ON THE LIGHTS. THE OTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEM IS WHEN TURNING A CORNER AND ACCELERATING AFTER A STOP, THE CD PLAYER HESITATES, OR SKIPS AS IF THE POWER H…

MY CAR STARTED MAKING THIS INCREDIBLE SQUEAKING SOUND EVERY TIME I TURNED BY STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. THE SQUEAKING STARTED IN MID-JANUARY OF THIS YEAR (2014) I HAVE HAD MY CAR CHECKED BY 2 PROFESSIONAL MECHANICS AND WAS TOLD BY BOTH THAT MY BALL JOINTS WERE DEFECTIVE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE MECHANICS ALSO ADVISED THAT MY CAR WAS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL CONCERNING BALL JOINTS ISSUED ON MY MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR VEHICLE. THE RECALL WAS ISSUED ON OCTOBER 9, 2009 UNDER REC…

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE WAITING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND EVERY LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED FOUR QUARTS OF OIL. AFTER PUTTING THE OIL IN THE VEHICLE, THE MECHANIC ATTEMPTED TO START THE ENGINE WHICH MADE A RATTLING NOISE BEFORE IT SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO …
