Owner report 10616392 · 2014-07-25 (July 25, 2014)

I PASSED A VEHICLE ON A 2 LANE HIGHWAY. WHEN MY ENGINE ACCELERATED SUDDENLY IT BEGAN SPUTTERING AND MISSING BADLY. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL TRUSTED MECHANIC. HE SAID THE GASKETS WERE ROTTEN AND OIL GOT INTO THE CYLINDERS. HE SAID THAT THIS DRY ROTTING OF RUBBER STUFF IS A COMMON PROBLEM HE SEES IN CHRYSLER. HE REPLACED VALVE COVER GASKETS AND GROMMETS, IGNITION COIL, AND SPARK PLUGS. I HAVE ALSO HAD A POPPING NOISE IN THE FRONT END. HE FOUND A DEFECTIVE FRONT WHEEL BEARING, WHEEL SPEED ABS SENSOR. MY COST $1,328. I HAVE MORE NIGHTMARES AB…

Owner report 10616400 · 2014-07-25 (July 25, 2014)

SINCE I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN 2013 THE FRONT END MAKES A LOT OF POPPING CREAKING NOISES IN THE FRONT END (NOT THE ENGINE). THE LOCAL DODGE CHRYSLER DEALER IN NAPLES FL. COULD NOT FIGURE IT OUT. MY LOCAL MECHANIC, WHOM I TRUSTED FOR 18 YEARS FOUND THAT THE WHEEL BEARING INT HE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE IS FAULTY AND THIS AFFECTS THE BRAKES TOO. HE REPLACED THE FRONT BEARING (INNER AND OUTER BEARINGS, CUPS, AND REPACK). HE REMOVED AND REPLACED BOTH FRONT END WHEEL SPEED ABS SENSORS. MY COST APPROX $500. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED DUE TO A PCM FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

Owner report 10616415 · 2014-07-25 (July 25, 2014)

I HAVE EXPERIENCED STEERING PROBLEMS AND AN AIRBAG LIGHT ON SINCE I PURCHASED THIS USED 2010 SEBRING IN JUNE 2013 AT THE "NAPLES DODGE/CHRYSLER" DEALERSHIP. THE CAR HAD/HAS POPPING CREAKING NOISES THAT CAME FROM THE FRONT END. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT CHRYSLER HAS RECALLS ON 2010 SEBRINGS REGARDING THE POWER STEERING (NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 10VA75000). I TOOK IN TO BE CHECKED. THE NAPLES DODGE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT MY CAR MODEL WAS NOT INVOLVED WITH THE RECALL. NAPLES DODGE DID FIND A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING AND REPLACED …
