I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE SYSTEM ON MY VEHICLE,1994 CHEVROLET S10 TRUCK,(VIN#[XXX]). I HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE DEALER I PURCHASED IT FROM (SANDS CHEVROLET, GLENDALE AZ). THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT EVERYTHING IS WORKING PROPERLY. I RECENTLY CAME ACROSS SOME INFORMATION REGARDING TWO (2) CAMPAIGNS FROM GM (#99I006000 AND 96V195000) THESE BOTH DEAL WITH THE EXACT PROBLEM I HAVE PRESENTED TO THE DEALER. I CONTACTED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TALKED TO [XXX] NELSON A CUSTOME…

Owner report 10140243 · 2005-10-19 (October 19, 2005)
DT: THE CONTACT OWNS A 1994 CHEVROLET S-10 PICK-UP TRUCK. THE SCREWS HOLDING THE THROTTLE PEDAL IN PLACE WERE TOO LONG. THEY PROTRUDED THROUGH THE FIREWALL INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT; THE SCREW PROTRUDED INTO THE LOOM THAT HAS THE WIRING IN IT AND SUPPLIED THE POWER TO THE IGNITION COIL. THIS CAUSED THE FUSE TO BLOW OUT, WHICH IN TURN, CAUSED THE ENGINE TO DIE. THIS STARTED ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. THE CONTACT PAID THEM FOR THE DIAGNOSIS WHICH WAS $113.00.*AK

I TURNED OFF MY 2000 CHEVY S10 TRUCK AND TOOK OUT THE KEY AND IT STARTED DINGING, LIKE THE KEY IS IN AND THE DOOR IS OPEN. THEN IT STARTED TRYING TO START ITSELF WITH NO KEY IN THE IGNITION AND PROCEEDED TO DO THIS FOR A FEW MINUTES, EVENTUALLY STOPPING. UNDER THE HOOD, THE WIRING HARNESS WAS ON FIRE. *TR

THE ABS SYSTEM STARTED TO FAIL IN NOVEMBER, WHEN COMING TO A STOP THE VEHICLES ABS SYSTEM WOULD FAIL AND LOCK THE POWER STEERING CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO PULL TO THE LEFT. I DID CONTACT THE DEALER AND MY VEHICLE WAS NOT LISTED ON THE RECALL LIST. BECAUSE OF ITS AGE IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE PROBLEM IS WORST DURING A STORM WHEN THE ROADS ARE COVERED WITH SNOW AND DURING RAIN STORMS. *NM

Owner report 10045107 · 2003-10-30 (October 30, 2003)
I HAVE A 2000 CHEVY S-10 PU. THE FUEL PUMP FAILED AT ABOUT 49,000 MILES. MY MECHANIC SAYS THAT THIS PART IS FAILING AT VERY LOW MILEAGE. A CAR WITH THAT MILEAGE SHOULD NOT FAILED. IN ADDITION SINCE THE FUEL PUMP IS INSIDE THE TANK IT IS A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR. *LA
