Owner report 732798 · 2000-09-29 (September 29, 2000)
ON 1/29/00 MY HUSBAND (MICHAEL FISHER) WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK HIT A SLICK PATCH OF ICE ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH CAUSED HIS TRUCK TO FISHTAIL AND GO OFF THE ROAD DOWN AN ENBANKMENT HEAD ON INTO A TELEPHONE POLE AT APPROXIMATELY 45-50 MPH. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. SHOUDER HARNESS DID KEEP HIS LEFT SIDE PROTECTED YET HIS RIGHT SHOULDER WAS ALLOWED TO SLAM FORWARD AND CAUSED HIS SPINE TO TWIST....HE WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS FOREVER. HE DID SEEK MEDICAL TREATMENT AND MISSED ABOUT 4 WEEKS OF WORK. OUR INSURANCE COMPANY FIXED THE TRUCK AND WE WER…

MOTOR WILL SHUT OFF AT VARIOUS TIMES, AT IDLE OR WHILE DRIVING, WITHOUT WARNING. TRUCK IS USED FOR TRAILERING HORSES AND HEAVY EQUIPMENT AND THE ENGINE SHUTTING DOWN SEVERELY EFFECTS BRAKING AND STEERAGE AND IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. THE TRUCK WAS REPAIRED BY THE DEALERSHIP FOR FUEL INJECTION PUMP PROBLEMS AT 55812 MILES WITH THE PUMP BEING REPLACED. SEARCHING INTERNET AND TALKING TO MECHANICS FOUND THAT THIS IS A PERSISTENT PROBLEM WITH THE 6.5L DIESEL ENGINE WITH THE FAULT BEING THE PUMP MOUNTED DRIVER (PMD) SOMETIMES CALLED A FUEL SOLENOID…
