TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET AVALANCHE 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES OVER A SPAN OF THREE YEARS WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR AND THE PROGRAM SENSOR KIT NEEDED TO REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE LS VALVE COVER, NUMBER ONE PLUG, CYLINDER HEAD, PISTON RINGS, AND A DEFLECTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. TAKATA RECALL IT HAS BEEN MORE THAN 2 YRS SINCE I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE AIRBAG RECALL. MY AVALANCHE SENSORS ARE STATING THE AIRBAG SYSTEM HAS FAILED. I HAVE BEEN TO THE INTERNET WEB SITES AND THE DEALERSHIP DOZENS OF TIMES ONLY TO GET THE SAME FEEDBACK...NO SOLUTION HAS BEEN DETERMINED, NOTHING THEY CAN DO. IT IS PRETTY CLEAR TO ME THAT THEY KNOW HOW TO FIX THE ISSUE, BUT THEY ARE USING STALL TACTICS TO AVOID INCURING THE COST THEY ARE LEGALLY BOUND TO SPEND. INSTRUMENT PANEL - PUFF A SMOKE AND VERY STRONG ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL CAME OUT FROM UNDER THE DASH ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IRRITATING DRIVERS (MY) EYES. FUEL, OIL, BATTERY CHARGE, AND WATER TEMP GAUGE NEEDLES ALL SWUNG AROUND TO THE 7 PM CLOCK POSITION. INDICATING A SHORT CIRCUIT AND OVER CURRENT SITUATION THROUGH THE GAUGES.
