Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2019-2027 Vision and All American school buses. A loose 12-volt cable may disconnect, causing a loss of electrical systems.

Consequence: A loss of brake assist, drive power, steering assist, or instrument panel displays can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect, add a torque stripe, and properly tighten the 12-volt cable as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 17, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242.

26V519000 · Electrical System:Wiring

Reported: 2026-08-10 (August 10, 2026) · Model years: 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2026, 2027

Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2021-2024 and 2026-2027 Vision School Bus (Electric), and 2023-2027 Vision School Buses. The 12V power wire on one of the harnesses may become damaged and short circuit.

Consequence: An electrical short can cause a disruption to safety functions such as a loss of rear lighting or instrument panel warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will add an in-line fuse and repair the wire harnesses as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 9, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242. Blue Bird's number for this recall is R26AG.

25V249000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Power Assist:Electric | Electrical System:Software

Reported: 2025-04-21 (April 21, 2025) · Model years: 2022, 2023, 2024

Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Vision electric school buses equipped with hydraulic brakes. The system software may fail to detect and alert the driver to a loss of the secondary brake assist.

Consequence: Driving the bus without a functioning secondary brake assist increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will update the software and repair the wiring harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 11, 2025. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242. Blue Bird's number for this recall is R25DL.

25V851000 · Equipment Adaptive/Mobility:Wheelchair Restraints/Securement:Latch/Anchor:

Reported: 2025-12-10 (December 10, 2025) · Model years: 2026, 2027

Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2026-2027 Vision and All American school buses equipped with QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max wheelchair restraints. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.

Consequence: An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Blue Bird will work with Q'Straint to inspect and replace the retractors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 29, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242.
