02V090000 · Fuel System, Gasoline:Delivery:Hoses, Lines/Piping, And Fittings

Reported: 2002-03-19 (March 19, 2002) · Model years: 2002

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, A FUEL VALVE'S OUTLET NIPPLE, TO WHICH THE FUEL LINE ATTACHES, MAY PULL OUT OF THE FUEL VALVE, ALLOWING FUEL TO EXIT ONTO THE MOTOR AND PRIMARY DRIVE.

Consequence: FUEL SPILLAGE, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL (SHUT OFF) VALVE. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN APRIL 1, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT BIG DOG AT 1-316-267-2597.

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE WELD ON THE STAINLESS STEEL HANDLEBARS COULD BREAK, LIMITING THE ABILITY TO USE THE HAND CONTROLS.

Consequence: THIS CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE HANDLEBARS. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN NOVEMBER 15, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT BIG DOG AT 1-316-267-2597.
