PERSISTENT FAILURE OF THE CENTER DIFFERENTIAL TRANSMISSION COMPONENT. THERE WERE NO EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE FAILURE, OTHER THAN NORMAL OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE. THE PART WAS REPLACED AT 70,000 MILES BY SEWICKLEY AUDI AND PARTIALLY COVERED BY WARRANTY (75%). THE CENTER DIFFERENTIAL WAS REPLACED AGAIN AND AGAIN AT 100,000 MILES (ALONG WITH THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION) - NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. VEHICLE WAS STILL IN 1ST GEAR WHILE GOING INTO A 6-LANE HIGHWAY. VEHICLE STALLED ONWAY TO MEDIAN. ONCOMING TRAFFIC WAS RACING TOWARDS IT, AND VEHICLE WOULDN'T START, IMPOSSIBLE TO MOVE. VEHICLE WAS PUSHED OUT OFF WAY. VEHICLE ONCE STARTED WOULDN'T MOVE INTO GEAR. A COMPLAINT WAS MADE WITH MANUFACTURER. VEHICLE WAS AT DEALER.
