ALTEC IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009-2011 SERVICE UTILITY BODY VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM MAY 2009 THROUGH MAY 2011. THE COMPARTMENT LATCH MAY FAIL IN THE SECONDARY (SAFETY CATCH) POSITION.

Consequence: THE COMPARTMENT DOOR ON THE UTILITY SERVICE BODY COULD COME OPEN DURING TRANSIT IF THE PRIMARY LATCHING POSITION IS NOT ENGAGED. A PERSON OR OBJECT COULD THEN FALL FROM THE VEHICLE DURING OPERATION, CAUSING INJURY AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

Remedy: ALTEC WILL DIRECT THE CUSTOMERS TO INSPECT THE COMPARTMENT DOOR LATCHES AND REPLACE ANY THAT DO NOT HOLD IN THE SECONDARY LATCHING POSITION. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 7, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT ALTEC AT 1-877-462-5832.

Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2015-2016 Aerial devices and Service Body Trucks equipped with certain JEMS 4A or JEMS 4E4 Idle Mitigation Systems (IMS). A cable within the IMS may have been improperly installed, possibly causing the cable to rub against an electrical component and short circuit.

Consequence: A short circuit increases the risk of fire.

Remedy: Altec will notify owners, and dealers will replace and reroute the contactor cable within the IMS, free of charge. The recall began on April 13, 2017. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-205-991-7733. Altec's number for the recall is CSN 646.

Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Altec Aerial Devices and Service Body vehicles, built on Ram 5500 Diesel chassis. The positive stud on the lead acid battery disconnect bracket may contact the hood and cause an electrical short.

Consequence: An electrical short can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Altec will notify owners, and dealers will replace the lead acid battery disconnect, free of charge. The recall began August 23, 2018. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 688.

Altec Industries, Inc is recalling certain 2017-2018 Digger Derrick, Aerial Devices, and Service Body vehicles, equipped with Whelen accessory brake lights. Depending on the specific wiring of the vehicle, these brake lights may illuminate when the brake pedal has not been pressed. As such these vehicles fail to comply to with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard FMVSS 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: If the brake lights incorrectly illuminate, it can confuse other drivers, possibly increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Altec will notify owners, and dealers will replace the brake lights, free of charge. The recall began February 7, 2019. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 708.

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2020 TA Series, 2019 L Series Aerial Device, 2018-2025 Service Body, LS Series, and AT Series trucks. The Power Distribution Module (PDM 10) circuit may experience a voltage spike, which can damage the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) and disrupt chassis functions, including the PTO switch, rearview mirror, or rearview camera.

Consequence: A damaged TCCM and disrupted chassis functions can result in a loss of handling and control or brake performance, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Altec will install a diode to the ignition hot circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 8, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3229.

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Aerial Devices, Digger Derricks, Service Bodies and Cranes. Water can leak into the strobe lights, which could cause an electrical short-circuit.

Consequence: An electrical short-circuit can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Altec will provide instructions to inspect the light assembly for moisture and install a new fuse. If moisture is found or the light is inoperative, a light replacement kit will be installed. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 14, 2023. Owners may contact Altec's customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Service Body vehicles. Water can leak into the strobe lights, which may cause an electrical short-circuit.

Consequence: An electrical short-circuit can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Altec will provide instructions to inspect the light assembly for moisture and install a new fuse. If moisture is found or the light is inoperative, a light replacement kit will be installed, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 23, 2026. Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2022-2024 TA Series, AT Series, L Series, LR Series Aerial Devices, and AF Series Forestry bodies. The fuel lines may not be properly secured, which can cause the lines to chafe and result in a fuel leak.

Consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the fuel lines. If the lines are improperly secured, Altec will provide a kit to secure the lines. If the lines are damaged, the chassis manufacturer will repair the fuel lines. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 27, 2025. Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2011-2025 Aerial Device, Digger Derrick, and 2022-2025 Service Body vehicles. The cable step wire rope assembly may be improperly secured, which can allow the cable entry step to detach from the vehicle.

Consequence: A cable step that fails during use increases the risk of injury.

Remedy: Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the cable crimps. If the cables are improperly crimped, Altec will provide instructions and a kit to replace the wire rope assemblies. The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the vehicle certification label may be incorrect, leading to the vehicle being unintentionally overloaded.

Consequence: An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash.

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Service Body vehicles. The inverter output AC wiring may be routed too tightly in the electrical receptacle enclosure and become damaged, possibly resulting in a short circuit.

Consequence: A short may cause the inverter AC wiring to overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2026 Service Body, Aerial Device, Pressure Digger, Spray Truck, and Digger Derrick vehicles. The low tire pressure rating printed on the final stage certification label is incorrect.

Consequence: An incorrect pressure rating may lead to underinflated tires, increasing the risk of a tire blowout or a crash.
